Just wondering what you guys opions are on this.

Late stages of a tourney Blinds 800/1600. My stack 23k sitting in the SB with k 7 off

Short stack pushes for 2800 and gets one caller (guy has 6k behind after calling). Knowing that the big blind will more than likely call aswell, do u call this hand everytime or should you fold this knowing that you are more than likely behind.

Basically should you call with marginal hands in order to knock openents out just becasue you can afford to make the call or should u fold save your chips and wait for a better spot to take shortstacks out. i find myself making these calls alot and wasting alot of chips in the meantime.

Let me know your taughts. tks

Folding here, given the information available. Only 800 invested and would really need to flop 2 pair or better to be happy I'm ahead. The 2k needed to see a flop here (a chunky 9% slice of my stack) can surely be better invested by open raising any 2 cards on one of the next 3 hands when I am in late pos.
