recording transfers

    hey, im sure this is going to sound stupid to all the tech whizzes out there....

    basically i need to download recordings to my PC - .WAV files from my mates creative zen sleek. i tried just using the USB cable but it wouldn't show up any files. will it work if i use the zen software or is it not possible to download stuff off it????

    It depends on what firmware (type of file system) your friend has on the player. There are 2 versions:


    1. If it's the non-mtp version, then you will need to install the software CD and use that software.

    2. If it's MTP firmware then you only need windows XP with service pack 2 and windows media player 10.


    Ask your friend if he updated the firmware at any stage - if he did, he most likely installed the MTP version.
