I just bought an Acer 19" monitor which is in 16:10 format.
It has a screen resolution of 1440X900.
In Control Panel I try to set resolution to match monitor but max it wil go to is 1280X1024. If I try to change it get message saying Not Supported.
If I download a new driver will this help me to get resolution to match monitor.
I have nVidia GeForce FX5200 card.
There is a driver on their site but I am reluctant to download it in case I mess things up. Anyone know if this nVidia card can do 1440X900?

It does sound like you are using an old driver so you should be able to assuming your running XP download this driver.

When you run the program it will do the process semi-automated in three stages
1)Uninstall your existing driver & reboot.
2)When you get to the desktop it will bring up the driver installer & proceed once done it will reboot once more.
    3) All done check your display settings now.
