I'm trying to set up Skype on my macbook, but it's failing to sign in. I've Authoxy running on the computer as ISS say in their instructions but still no luck.

    Can anyone help?

OK, I got it working now with help from Authoxy website. Instead of using port 8081 with proxy 127.0.0.1 in Network Settings, I use 8080 and in Authoxy I'm using proxy1.tcd.ie and port 8001.

Hope this helps anyone on a mac :)

yup i made the same mistake in Authoxy setup last year; haven't tried it yet since moving back in, want to get a microphone/headset combo of sorts (previously was using iBook which has good built in mic, but now set up with Mac Mini with no mic!). Have you managed to get video to work with your shiny MacBook-with-built-in-camera?

Haven't tried it yet, just downloaded the standard version of Skype but will download the v2beta with video soon and let you know how it goes :)

Is there a program like Authoxy, but for XP? I have a ****load of software which doesn't support secure proxies..

Authoxy is for macs only afaik, not sure if there are any similar programs for Windows, never heard of any and none mentioned on ISS. Just out of interest, what sort of Windows programs don't support secure proxies?

Moodlogic, Sony K750i firmware updater, various Canon software..nothing majorly important, but still irritating.
