Server Reboots

I have 2 HP DL360 G4 servers running in the same network and stored in the same bay.

Since last Friday, I've noticed random reboots. Server 1 will reboot and 25 minutes later, server 2 reboots. This has been happening once a day now for 4 days after 2 years of perfect operation.
Both servers have backup power supplies and each is plugged into a different power source, should there be a power cut.

There is nothing in the event log except the 'normal' messages associated with a 'normal' reboot nor is there anything in the Dr. Watson.

The servers are running Mcafee 7.1.1 and have the latest updates.

The servers have no access to the Internet.

I've taken out a disk from one of them (they run on RAID 1+0) and have put it into a different machine on a different netwrk to see if it'll reboot at the same time as the server from where it came from, but I won't know until tomorrow.

Any idea why this is happening and how it's affecting both servers???

Do you use a WSUS server on your network?

It sounds like it could be a power issue .. the UPS's have batterys that are usually sealed lead acid and should be replaced regularly, was this done? Also expensive UPS's should do a dischange/change cycle now and again automatically (but not once a day)

It could also be an external power problem where some heavy plant is just taking too much juice and causing brownouts ... can you measure the outputs of the ups, does the voltage dip?

are the servers clustered? (probably not being in the same rack) ... are you in a data unavailable situation during this? managers/directors are normally amenable to getting new equipment when they have a lot of users screaming at them

Other than that, could be a virus :P
