    Lads,

    Im using this monitor
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=311135

and it wont let me play Halo, because it says the monitor must be set to 50hz.

It is connected to my 360 using the HD VGA cable.

Any ideas lads on how to change the settings on the monitor or how i can play halo on this bad boy!!!

Would it make a difference if i got a vga to dvi connector?

Ive tried changing it in the 360 but i cant find the option, does any one else have this problem?

You have to use the sd connection to change it on your tv set and then plug it back into the monitor.

You need to plug the 360 into a regular TV in order to download the backwards compatible updates, once you have them though you can run using the VGA connection again.

Lads sorry just one more quick question, will changing the hertz affect any other games, will they all look crap or something?

    Cheers

The 360 will download an update for Halo 2 when you run it first, and after that you can switch back to 60Hz. Some games like Oblivion only work properly in 60Hz. I think it's to do with internal timing issues in the game that are linked to the refresh rate, and 60Hz is standard for NTSC, so US developers tend to get it working right at 60Hz. There were definitely timing issues with Halo 1 where PAL and NTSC boxes couldn't play each other, and I read somewhere that there are still some places in Halo 2 where you get strange things happening at 50Hz.

    Ciarán.
