The picture below was taken this year. As you study it, notice the white lines underneath the camels. This picture was taken from the air, at sunset, in Africa. The remarkable fact is that the white line is actually the camel and the darkcamel is actually the shadow!

    Enjoy...

Dammit .... the reason I posted the image is because it was cool but I also wanted to try to figure out how you post images so that they appear in line with the post ... this did not work ...

Can anyone please explain to me what I might be doing wrong ?

I uploaded the image making sure it was less than 100kb ...then I inserted it using the "insert image" tool and the url generated by boards ... but it still comes up as a link ... why ?

maybe because the address is just a reference and not an actual .jpg

You nearly got it right, but as sionnach says you need a direct link to an image (i.e. something ending in .jpg, .png, .gif, etc.) for image embedding to work. When you 'attach' an image you aren't given a direct link. You'll have to find somewhere else to upload it to first.

    Very cool picture though.

I would tend towards the baloon option, just because the shot is so vertical and there's no sign of a wing of any kind.

Sorry for doing this on the post but I just have to figure this one out ... here is another attempt ... this time with one of my own images ... sadly not of the same standard as the first ... but it is from Egypt !!!

This time ... I uploaded the image to flickr ... got the url to the image and then just plced it in the thread using the "Insert Image" icon in boards

Leinsterman, you don't have to actually post to see if it works. "Preview Post" will let you see if the pic is there or not.

(remove the ?v=0 at the end. If it doesn't end it .jpg/.png/.gif/etc., it won't work).

    @ Leinster man,
the easiest way is to "quote" someone else and see how they did it. That way you get to see all the tags they used. The just copy the tags with your direct link to the pic and Bob's your uncle.

Ah don't worry about it, we learn by trying. Love the camel picture btw. I got an email with some great nat geo shots that I must put up. Its a 1MB powerpoint presentation but I'll see if I can find a link to the original elsewhere...
