Thinking of getting a HDTV for use with an xbox 360 & maybe a HD DVD player/PS3 sometime & would like to know how essential HDMI is in a TV? I dont have the biggest budget & HDMI seems to hike up the price of TVs so do i really need it??? Any help appreciated,thanks

HDMI allows the TV to recieve HDCP protected content. HDCP is used on SkyHD and in the future HD-DVD/Blu-ray will enforce ICT for non HDCP TV's.
