Motor for sat?

    I have just been told that thers motors for satelite dishes for around 20 euro . will they work on any kind of dish?thanks if u can help

    Depends if your receiver supports Diseq 1.2 or USALS (gotoX)... The dish size depends if it's steel or Aluminium and usual beteween 100 - 120 cm. This is usually in the model name of the motor.

    Sky boxes do not support any kind of motor connection and the S/R is fixed so it will do you no good with any motor.

    Also do keep in mind you also get what you pay for. The Stab and Motec motors are considered the best ones. The Stab has gears of metal (more noise) and the Motec of plastic (more silent, but less sturdy).

    More like 100 Euro for any decent Motek or Stab.

    They work best with dishes that are larger than 70cm and less than 1.2m

    Skymini dish not really suitable. Most of the satellites need 80 to 90cm.
