Important Dates

UL Open Days will take place on Monday October 16th and Tuesday October 17th.

Two days off college folks.

The following parking arrangements will be in place;

The pay carpark will be free on both days,
The only carpark available for staff parking at the Foundation will be the CSIS carpark,
The non-staff section of the Schuman carpark will be reserved solely for the parking of coaches,
The East Gate carpark will be reserved for the overflow of coach parking.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in making our Open Days a success.

I'll be making the trek down from Cork on the monday. Can't wait to have a look at the Aero Eng department! My buddies didn't need much convincing to take a day off school to go for a piss-up in Limerick! And then there are the few guys(?) interested in primary teaching(?) in Mary I. What should we do in Limerick while we're there?

Dragging this thread as far off tangent as possible...why were there so many Mary I students wearing Mary I navy tracksuit bottoms at the bus station on Friday...? Is it a prerequisite for attendence or summat???

The drinkers would like to know if the Stables or any other campus bar will be serving and at what time? We were talking to our English teacher (a Limerick man by birth, teaching in Cork by the grace of God) and he said there's some good bars around the quays. Is that true? For a 70 year old, he knows how to have a good time - he's famous for cruising around for UCC talent during fresher's week!

I doubt they'd be open for open days, and if they are, they probably wont be serving alcamahol.

The hurlers or Groody bar might be though

Nah, most of us are over 18 and those who drink are reasonably responsible about it(yeah, ye'll believe that alrite!)! There's are fair few of us who don't drink though.

Well, if you're looking for something to do around town, you should probably know that the college isn't within walking distance of the city. You'll have to take a bus.

They probably had PE that day, and we're required to wear them for that, along with our college polo.
Others may have been wearing them as it the only thing they could find/easy to travel in, i duno!

Just to drag this thread vaguely back on topic.

The Careers Fair will be taking place on Wednesday October 18th in the University Arena from 12:00 - 16:00. Probably only of interest to 4th years/post grads though.

On the topic of bars open, the 2 on campus are member's clubs so it'd be drawing trouble on yourself trying to get served without an ID card with the sticker on it
