Nice to see some variety there Steve, nice one for posting.

    Right...

The first one is great, nice abstract, great movement and lovely colour in the shot.
Like the contrast in the second one. Lovely atmosphere to the shot, almost haunting or something. Lovely glow :)
Really like the contrast in the bw portrait as well, nice treatment of light in that one too.
hehe nice pint! Like the DoF. Surprised at the amount of guinness in the glass though!! Taking it easy were ya :)
My favs are the birds and the forest though. Love the composition in the bird shot, and great moment to capture. Nice subtle DoF as well, and nice contrast. Love the angle of the railing as well. Great shot.
The forest shot is just spot on IMO. Perspective is fantastic and the colours are gorgeous. Love the layers of light coming through the trees, great work.

That concludes the votes of the Kerry jury!

Good to see the change alright, no harm every once in a while. :)

The ones that stand out most to me (and I'll have a better look at them later) is the first one, love the first one, very nicely captured.
The colours are brilliant in the last one, a nice warm feeling too it. Well done.

Some really grand shots there, working backwards I love the forest shot, mostly as I enjoy running around our local thickets when I get a chance - you did great to capture the sunset as you did and the symmetry of the birds are great.

I love the capture of the B&W pub shot also.

The bird one looks photoshopped, honestly, it's not. Cropped yes, but birds are as they were...

    1. Nice colours. not unappealing. you can't tell straight away what the suject is, but this in iteself isnt an issue. I suspect you could orinetate it any way you wish and it would still be a pleasing image.

    2. Seems well silhoutted (sp?), though I am left wondering what is sitting on top of the pole. The dark shadows around the bottom edge are devoid of detail (on purpose?) and add nothing for me. Personally I would have cropped them. How much of this was PP?

    3. Nice portrait, could do with the background being more out of focus.

    4. As 3

    5. Kinda looks like a holiday snapshot gone wrong to me. The B&W conversion does nothing for me. I'm not sure what you are trying to convey with this image.

    6. Contrary to previous comments, I think both birds need to be sharp to make this image work.

    7. Would probably make a nice poster for guiness. Can't complain about this image.

    8. Very nice colours, with good shadows and highlights. Nice image.

    1. It's a nice shot, but could do with a play about in curves to bring out a few more colours, and possibly a crop to emphise speed a bit more.

    2. I like, but find it to be very grey and white, rather than black and white.

    3. I find the body on the left quite distracting, but it is a nice candid.

    4. is also a nice candid, I like.

    5. I don't like...There isn't enough movement for it to work, I think anyways!

    6. I like, but I think the B&W conversion needs a bit more work, it's just very grey all over.

    7. Don't have much to say other than a crop off the top might give the glass more impact.

    8. is a fantastic shot, and the best of the ones posted. Really like it.
