Hi, my machine is going to die anyday i can hear the HD grinding away so i cloned it a few days back onto a spare SATA drive i had. now the orig windows install is on an IDE drive. and i have the SATA drive operating via a controller card i installed.
SATA works fine cause i have another SATA drive i use for storage.
However when i unplug the orig ide drive and plug in the windows SATA disk nothng happens. Once i got windows to boot from it then it said restart to finsish intall of new hardware, so i did and now i get a NTLDR missing error.
However in my BIOS i dont see a Boot from SATA option. Its a Pheonix Award BIOS V6.00 and i cant find a new bios flash to upgrade it.

    Anyone got any ideas?

I'm going to guess that when you cloned the hard drives, you didn't edit boot.ini?

Well, I'm gonna guess that your problem. Stick in the sata drive, boot to the recovery console on the CD, type fixboot and fixmbr and you should be sorted.

For future reference for anyone who comes across this thread, stick in the XP cd, boot to it then press R when it prompts you to.
