Help with finding a new computer

Im looking for a new computer and since I know little or nothing about them I would like some help from here in choosing a new one.My budget is roughly 1000 euros and im looking for the machine to have the following:

-Fairly large hard drive
-DVD dual layer +- writer
-Fairly fast
-Quite a bit of memory
-A graphics card for a moderate amount of gameplay


From the above details I would appreciate it if you could give me the links to various sites that have PC's that fit the above desrcription.

Have a look at the 'Kits and Bundles' http://komplett.ie/k/kc.asp?bn=10293
add the missing items and do an upgrade of your current PC (if it lets you).
That way you learn a lot more about your PC and you don't have to struggle with mass-junk from Packard-Bell, Dell and their ilk.
It's also a lot cheaper that way!

Il mainly be using if for college work and playing games.Then apart from that il be burning alot of dvds.....

you really cant go wrong with that, excellent value for money..

But when was vat @ 16% ? is this a new thing that i was not notified about ?

Unless the OP needed to buy a copy of windows,
16% sounds like UK VAT rate not the 21% ( including 1% price hike when retailers didn't pass the 20% rate on to the consumer )

O yea I was just thinking,are the pcs supplied by ankermann provided with plugs that fit into irish sockets?Do I have to worry about doing something with the power or is that already taken care of?
