Fancy Paper!

Ok so I was having a nostaligic chat with the boyfriend last night about all the stuff we had and did in primary school.

He was amazed by the 'fancy paper' craze that I described and he'd never heard of it before (bear in mind this is a man who used to play 'lemmings' in the playground!).

I just want to make sure that I haven't lost my mind and that this did actually happen! I remember having a big folder full of different types of 'fancy paper' and all the girls would get together and have swapping sessions.

    Anyone else do this?

oh yes i had photo albums full of the stuff and when i say photo albums i mean the ring binder type ones and the filmy stuff you used to peel back from stiff cardboard. i always wonder why i never see it anymore.

I always wanted some of that paper but only because my friend, she had some with Mr.T on it! She wouldn't give me any though, Ruu cried. :) Mr.T fancy paper, white with Mr.T in pink print and smelled like strawberries!

The only kind of paper I'm thinking of is origami paper... and I know that's not the same thing...

I had loads of fancy paper and all the girls on the road would get together at least once a week to swap!

Fancy paper is the business & I still have my folder upstairs inthe attic....

aaah. The smell, the bargaining, etc.

    Strawberry Shortcake
    Victoria Plumb
    Peanuts
    Perot the weird clown thing
    Love is... series
I also had Mr.T paper. it had boxes on it like a maths copy.

Also there were really funky papers with photos of 1970's couples horsing around on a swing or on a beach and a phrase like' Happiness is being together with you..' I think that was for the purposes of loveletters - but hey what does a 7 year old know about that.....

I mentioned fancy pages on the "I remember" thread. I used to have stacks of it and we'd all swap it. It was banned from our primary school because too many fights and talk of it went on!

I remember all the above and snoopy too. Think I had My Little Pony ones as well. My favourite set I got included matching envelopes and stamps which were so cute.

This also reminds me of the paper cut out dolls which I loved too.

I was the only boy in my neighbourhood* with mountains of girls. I got roped into the Fancy Paper shiat. I'm nearly certain I thought most of it was edible.

*That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

I am afraid you'd have to make me drink milk (i.e. drug me) in order for me to part with MR.T. The paper was drawings of the characters from the Mr. T. Cartoon. :p

I will dig out some of the fancies and see if I can stick 'em up here.

It used to be annoying when you got a pad and the cover was all fancy but the inside was just lined pages.
