This might not be the proper forum for this, so moderators please feel free to move it. I am wondering what the best alternative to iTunes available in Ireland is? A lot of the ones I've been looking at are not available here e.g. Rhapsody, Napster.

Sounds like you're talking about the iTunes Store rather than the iTunes software.

A lot of my friends use Allofmp3.com. You only pay about 1/10th of what you pay at the iTunes Store, and all your music works with iTunes or any other software, as it isn't protected.

Exactly, are there any legal alternatives to the iTunes music store worth checking out?

What would be your problem with using allofmp3.com?

You are paying for something illegal....

emusic.com is the best or www.wippit.com if you want some chart stuff

Well now hold on, just because IRMA says it's illegal doesn't mean it's so. These music bodies seem to think they can leglislate for themselves. They act with an incredible amount of arrogance. While it is definately not 100% legitimate, it does fall into a nice grey area.

Many reputable sources have written about and lauded allofmp3.com including, most recently, The Sunday Times. The real issue here is a moral one, and that is the artists are more than likely not being paid proper royalties.

In the case of 50cent and co, I say f*ck them and their cribs. Maybe not, for the smaller less established artists.

Finally, there's a big difference between downloading music off this site and uploading music (as in back in the Napster and Audiogalaxy days.) Those who uploaded were the ones who got sued.

Back to my original questions, what other music sites do people recommend and use?
