If it's in immaculate condition with a new timing belt, clutch and NCT, it's probably worth about €800. If the tyres will need replacing soon, use that as a bargaining chip. Make sure everything works right, all electrics, heater, etc... Make sure it has the red master key which is necessary to get any additional keys cut, though I think some auto locksmiths can clone the transponders now. Not necessarily a bad car, if it's lasted this long, it'll probably last another while, but not worth anything because of image and reputation.

Headgaskets are known to go on FIATS so see if it went and was replaced already!!

There's no such thing as an SX Sporting model, only an SX model with a Sporting badge from a Cinquecento, Seicento or Punto stuck on.

Try and get a 1.2 model, as these are generally more reliable, and cheaper to tax and insure, despite identical performance. Aim for HSX spec, as this gives alloys fogs sunroof, and far nicer interior. also newer Bravas will have passenger airbag too.

Screw them, if they want safety features they should buy themselves a car.:)

The 1.4 is notoriously heavy on fuel.
The 16v 1.2 is fast, easy on fuel and relatively reliable(as FIATs go). In HSX spec well equiped but a fair bit more expensive than an old 1.4 SX.

99 Bravas aren't muchmore expensive than 97 Bravas, they're all dirt cheap.

yeah if any of the electrics apart from the rear wiper (they always go  ) are not 100% walk away. Timing belt is very important, check the interval and replace it early. IIRC it's due at 70,000 - earlier if used on short trips BUT it needs to be changed early , so if was changed before 50,000 you'd be looking to change it soon.

Does it have a dent in the boot 1/3 of the way across ?
many of the do because it's so hard to see out the back window
