Finally got broadband... yay, just thought I'd remention this company to anyone living in my area (Enniscorthy to Borris area, including rural spots round mt. Leinster) as you can now most likely get broadband with speeds up to 4mb from www.permanet.ie

Check their coverage map on the site (link on their homepage) and see if you're in one of their coverage circles, they've pretty much covered the south east now, so even if you live in the middle of nowhere, you can probably still get broadband as long as you have line of sight to their mast on the mountain (pretty likely, it's a big mountain).

I just noticed a couple of days ago that they are finally in my area, going to ring them as soon as I have some time during the day. Not 100% sure if I have LOS though even though Im inside of 3 of the circles. How long did it take them to get out to you? Id apreciate it if you could throw up some ping times. Thanks :)

They came out to me within the week of ringing

If you're into online gaming (especially counter strike, here are ping times to expect)

And good old ping times to Boards

Pinging www.boards.ie [82.195.136.250] with 32 bytes of data:

See, they're not earth shattering but it's the only form of broadband I'll ever get and the downloading is a dream with no caps and lightning fast speed.

Not earth shattering alright but should do the job just fine. Thanks for that
