I am already a sky customer but i must say ive heard nothing about this offer - So if i recommend a friend to sky and they sign up ill be upgraded to Sky+ - Thats bloody brill.

Does your friend have to quote your account number or something?

can find any info bout it online at all on the sky site, do you both join sky THEN register, or do you have to get the other fella to join with your contract number?

I tried to introduce a friend.

My friend called up to sign up to the sky+ package. The ad in the Sky magazine clearly states that the cost of the box is €69 plus €75 installation. The operator told my friend it would cost €149 plus €75 install, when my friend queried this and mentioned the ad he was told that he could get the sky+ box for €69 but not under the "introduce a friend" scheme. Obviously my friend was not willing to pay out an extra €80 so I get a free sky+ box.

It looks like the "introduce a friend" scheme is a sham.

I just introduced a friend this week. They're on the 27.50 (55) a month package, don't think it matters what package they pick as long as they mention that you recommended them & that they have your contact details to give to sky.
I then had to ring a different number and quote both our account numbers.
I have been informed that it should take 28 days, his installation is this Thursday so I will keep you all informed.
