Ah yeah the old arcades. 10p a shot when i was a nipper. My local was the snooker hall in monkstown but the pierrot (sp?) in dunlaoghaire was the place to be.

Here are a few of my fave games

    Street Fighter 2
    Ghost n' Goblins
    Kick and run
    Final Fight
    1942
    Golden Axe
Salamander (i think thats the first game i ever played)
    Shinobi
    Double Dragon.

    Anybody ever go pierrot?

Streets of Rage was my favourite.

Often went to the Pierrot Club on the Quays.

I used to play arcade games in Tramore, some favs that spring to mind are:

    Bubble Bobble
    Tetris
    Pacman
    Pacland
    Paperboy
    Super Mario
    Space Invaders
    Donkey Kong

Can remember other ones but can't remember the names. I was actually quite good at them & got my initials in the top ten a few times!

I used to love Centipede, Shinobi and Bombjack.

Anytime the machines were serviced on holidays the owner used to put in a few 10p coins for free games.

my favourite was Black Tiger .. http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=7138

ah the memories .... i nearly failed first year because of this game ... i logged a lot of hours on this baby ... up to a few years ago there was a working cabinet in an arcade in Bray ... must be time for a retro remake

i'd make a great barbarian ... imagine solving every problem with a sword!

I got a cd off a mate last week with over 800 arcade games on it:eek: Absolutley amazing. Most of the games mentioned here are on it. Happy days. Cant believe they can fit that amount on one cd, suppose it goes to show how little memory was required for games back then.

Ah yes, Golden Axe, New Zealand Story and Choplifter, great fun. :)

I remember when Final Fight came out and it was such a revolution in gaming technology  :) Then of course Street Fighter 2 hit the arcades and nothing was ever the same again!

If I'd saved all of those 10ps and converted them to Euro instead of slotting them into machines I could probably retire comfortably today :D

The pierrot was a fuk of a place for trouble it has to be said. The snooker hall is beside the Farmhouse pub. Dont think they have any arcade machines now. In fact i was gonna buy one of his machines a few years ago.
