At the final table of a pub tourney the other night with a dealer. In one hand with the hole cards dealt, the player on the button goes all in. He's told that its not up to him, utg checks, and its checked around to the button who sees check. Dealer then announces that any plyer betting out of turn will be committed to that bet. Cue big argument with only one player backing up the dealer. I hadnt a clue so stayed stum. What's the correct ruling please?

He acted out of turn so is commited to that bet. Seams fair to me.
If a player calls out of turn then when it is his go he has to call. no raise no fold.

Yeah dealer is right, is all-in stands whether out of turn or not, his fault for not keeping up with action.

The bet has to stand in that situation, or there is nothing to stop this from happening frequently, in a bid to stop other people betting before it gets to the button. Bet should stand.
