    Hi
I'm looking to see what external tv tuners people have or wish to have, which are the best for use with a laptop (dell demension). I rang Dell and they would only recomend their own (obviously!:p ) I would like one that is top of the range or close anyway. And what software? Thanks

Software is a matter of preference.

Hauppauge do an excellent line of tv tuners (including external ones). I use one of their cards (PVR350 (internal PCI)) and it does the job excellently.

If you have a home network you can use a slingbox.

Pro - You can watch TV anywhere (even outside the house)

Con - TV cards tend to give better quality output as they aren't being streamed.
