DART questions

OK...for all you transport experts, I am a frequent traveller on the DART and often while away my time thinking of things such as the below, answers appreciated

    (1) "The Fat Controller"
at all the city centre DART stops, there is usually one if not more "fat controller" types hanging about by the ticket gates checking outgoing passengers tickets in a desultory and disinterested way, usually while smelling of stale beer and BO.
I've noticed that new ticket gates have gone up at Landsdowne Road station which seem pretty efficient - you have to put your ticket in to get through both going in and out. They look pretty cool and seem to operate well. Are these planned for all DART stations and will this mean the demise of "the Fat Controller"?!
Also, will these fancy new ticket gates be compatible with the new integrated ticketing system (whenever this miracle appears)?

    (2) "The Big Crush"
getting out of both Pearse and Tara at rush hour is a nightmare and also looks like a Hillsborough stadium disaster waiting to happen with everyone being funneled into narrow walkways/staircases.
Any plans to radically improve this?

    (3) The "Duh" solution
will they ever double track the DART line - surely we could really improve services by having fast and local lines separate from each other?? "Duh", I know but will it ever happen/is it planned?

that is all, learned responses welcome, ty in advance :)

    (1) The new ticket machines are going into 7 stations in the 1st phase, incl all city centre stations except Pearse due to its limited concourse space I understand.

    (2) Couldn't agree more with Tara St, esp on the Southbound Platform. Hopefully the new entrance under construction at the southern end of the station will reduce the pressure on the north end.

    (3) The DART lines are all double track except Bray - Greystones. :D You mean quadruple. If the government will was there of course it would happen - would cost zillions though with land purchase, CPO's. Can't see it happening in the short to medium term.
