    Was listening to off the ball last night on NewsTalk and I thought I heard them mention the Jack Charlton years been shown on TV sometime this week but missed what day and what time. Anybody here this or know anything about it?

    Was free with one of the sunday papers a week or so ago. Watched in in a mates house. Seriously funny, well made as well though.

    If you do see it wait for the Alan Partridge-esque moment of comic genius from Charlton with the cigar.

    It's in Golden Discs for a fiver as well, got it last week and then heard the ad for the free one!

    TV3 are showing the Jack Charlton years after the game on Saturday night. I know there's a rubbish Charlton DVD and a decent one. The decent one was the one free in the NOTW. I'm not sure which one TV3 are showing.

    Why on earth would anyone want to sit through that? It would be like me buying England - The Swedish Era or the Keegan Years or... er you get the idea!

    I have the rubbish one, must check Golden Disks to see if they have the decent one.

    Mike for us Irish supporters it is as good as its ever got and maybe as good as it will ever get!! ;)

    Why? Are the Keegan and Swedish era's the most successful era's in English football and did either of them take England to their first major championship?

    The Charlton Years was an RTE thing made just after he retired and is very good, showing highlights of everything. It was out on video, is this what the NOTW had a version of? Kicking myself for missing it if so.

    Jack Charlton: The Irish Years is Colm Meaney interviewing Jack with less highlights and was released about a year ago. It's not so good, and is the one TV3 are showing on Saturday night.

    Which one do Golden Discs have?


    EDIT: Just found that it was The Charlton Years that the NOTW had. Some lad's selling them for a fiver on ebay if anyone's interested, I just ordered one.

    Just got my missus to check Golden Disks in town and they only have the crap documentry style one. Couldn't find it on ebay could you post a link?

    There is a sum total of about 2-3 minutes highlights in it.
    Very disappointing.

    If anyone else has problems finding it on ebay just type in the charlton years into the search and it's on buy it now, there's also one being auctioned but i didn't want to risk not winning and all the others disappearing.

    The Charlton Years was made by treasure films, just check that and youll know its the good one.
