sorry i posted more links to more pics....see below for same again....

The rouse sport came out in small numbers, hand built by andy rouse, 67 were made, 6 in 2 wheel drive and 61 in 4 wheel drive, the RS owners club in england estimate there is approx 25 - 30 left scattered all over europe etc...

they were a step up from your standard cosworth, they came out 260bhp with 300lb torque as standard.. interior is limited edition, they run a small hybrid turbo its either a 28 or 30 need to look at spec list again to determine same..had different styling also as standard - see pics. a wider boot spoiler. the big difference is mainly the fact that these were hand built by Andy Rouse (for those who dont know of him he was an ex ford touring car champion in the 80's for ford, he developed the engine in these babies, also he developed the RS500 with ford....do a google on him, all should be on there somewhere.) these cars dont crop up too often especially in good condition.

Yep definitely a Manta i200 in one of the mags this month, nice coincidence that you have one too as it's a very rare car I'd imagine. Not sure what mag it was as I was only browsing in the shop. It was one of the well known classic mags or it might have been Motorsport magazine either.

    that cossie is beautiful
lovely soon to be classic / modern classic?
    have you imported her yet??
is it cheeky to ask how much the vrt is on a cossie?
if you vrt'd her, was there a difference between the rouse cossie and a standard?

read above - came out standard as 260 bhp with 300lb torque, standard cossie 220bhp..

Nice car mate.............best of luck !

I love those Saphire Cosworths, rare to find in decent nick nowdays. A friend of mine has one that has the standard grey plastic bumpers, no spoiler and "LX" badges on it. Its the ultimate "Q" car !

I recall the days of the Rouse Sport cars, all the "Max Power" type mags had Cossies in them each month, each one more powerful than the last !

The Escort Cosworth in the piccies looks like one of the last edition ones, know anything about it ?

You rarely seen Escort Cosworths at all now !

The escort in the pic was sold on the a young lad from the north - belfast i think, the ex owner made a big turbo conversion, and few other bits and pieces, dont know a whole pile about it really.

the esc..cos.. are out there altyr - its just that they are kept under lock and key!!

Heh, I like the idea of the 'LX' badged Cosworth.

I too haven't seen a genuine Escort or Sierra Cosworth for a long time - I know where there is one, though it's in bits, mid-restoration.

Best of luck with the Rouse one!
I saw the I200 article while flicking a few days ago... wondered was it yours.

OK the i200 article is in the current issue of Classics Monthly (has a green Lambo Miura on the cover) The i200 is owned by a guy named Paul Brennecker

Heard a funny story about Andy Rouse a few years back don't know if it's true!

Seems a guy here in Mullingar is related to Andy and was over visiting. After they pulled the plug on the touring car RS 500's Andy converted one into a very rapid road car. The guy asks Andy if he can bring it for a spin, no prob and off he goes up the road as fast as he dared. He quickly comes to the attention of the local coppers who give chase and pull him over! Lad gets hauled out of the car and the cops ring Andy to tell him someone has stolen his car. Seems the cops had spotted immediately that it wasn't Andy driving the car as it was going too slow!

Like I said I can't say for sure that it a true story, but it makes a good one!

VERY nice car ! Sierras are great.

I have the same T28 turbo in my MX5, generates about 250hp and 200lbft torque - but as it's a small turbo, it's spooling all the time (and very noisy too - like a little jet engine), so zero lag, and instant power. Gets to peak power at abour 3,000 rpm but plateaus there where bigger turbos take longer but keep on going.

Suits the '5 but how does it suit the big Sierra ? Very driveable ?

I cant comment on above as i dont know the car that well yet...from what I know of the car I cant fault her in anyway. Hasnt come out of the garage since I brought her home as its fecking wet anytime I want to venture out:( from what I know of the car it peaks at about 5,000 - 5,500rpm and kicks in around the 2000 rmp mark.

Its very drivable in towns etc and on the country roads!! when in 5th and you want to pass a car out in front there is no need to change down, there is great pulling power in her when you sink the shoe. While driving in towns, there is no constant gear changing, it drives beautifully, but obviously at low revs, to stop the turbo kicking in! There is very little lag in her, its just sheer power as you climb up through the gears, it launches as you go through them, you can feel the four wheels gripping the road through the steering wheel as your pushed back into the seats, after you reach the 5 - 5.5 rpm mark its reached its limit and your only flogging her from here on.

The Rouse chip allows her to peak to 18psi, i need to get her on a rolling road to see how she is etc.. will let ya know
