Given the type of stuff you shoot, would a wide angle or maybe a 50mm prime be of more use to you? Is there something you specifically want to shoot with a telephoto lens?

well i plan on getting a 50mm for my digital but i have 50mm for my film cameras!

well id like to have a lens with a bit more reach, because ive been shooting mostly 50mm for a while now and im a bit fed up of it to be honest!

I got a Sigma 55-200 for my D50 on eBay for €120 - I'm happy with it - has a good reach but is light and compact. Ideal for soemone like me who's a newbie. Good for airport photography.

Seems like a lovely lens. The few times I used it anyway. Gives great results.. and oh like Al said Ryan is the man for that I guess.

what about the 150mm 2.8 macro sigma?

I still haven't found a container big enough to deal with the amount of drooling I've been doing since I got it. Great lens, well worth the moolah. Focus is a bit slow as you'd expect with a macro, but what a lens..

Lots of examples on my flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/rymus

    deadly thanks for that

    definetly consider this one!
