    I'm considering the following laptop:

    * Processor: AMD Turion X2 TL-56 - 1.86GHz, up to 1.6GHz FSB, 2x512KB L2 Cache
    * RAM: 2048MB DDR2-667MHz
    * Hard Drive: 120GB Serial ATA 5400rpm
    * Screen: 15.4" Widescreen TFTwith Crystal View Technology
    * Optical Drive: DVD±RW
    * Graphics: ATI Radeon X1100 256MB
    * Wireless LAN: 802.11b/g - Call for advice on Wireless Networking
    * Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition

    I've looked it up and its windows Vista Premium compatible. But also discovered that the ATI Radion is a chipset intended for AMD Workstations. Does this mean that the graphics are not upgradable & is this going to effect the battery life heat of the machine.

    It is a bargain as it only costs €816

    Looks like a good deal, ya don't see 2 many lappys comin with 2Gb of ram.

    Don't know how people make such a fuss about being vista compatible, maybe its cos Dell etc have started puttting fancy stickers on to say "Vista compatible". GO FASTER STRIPES IMO.
    Vista compatible is just about how much ram the system has, as long as there's 1Gb+ its ok. You might need better graphics to run some of the new Aero features etc, but it will run fine.

    Thanks, think I'll go for it.

    The reason that I'm so interested in Vista is because I am sitting in work at a windows 2000 workstation, and find it so much easier to sift through and find info on XP machines - just don't want to be left behind feeling like I should have waited...

    Good machine, although battery life would be rubbish. Good price though.
