Right so, I have a degree in IT. Now looking back after 4 years in college and almost a year working in IT support, I reckon it was a mistake. I'm constantly bored out my mind at work, no motivation or drive to do well and simply dont like it. Add to that a bollox of a boss :-).

My real passion is (& has always been) history. Do any of ye know any possible career path I could take to do something with history (or even research) that I could take to get nto this area. I've already wasted four years at college so I dont really want to go back.

    Any advice....

Nollaig, I totally sympathise with your situation.

In the past two years I've seen probably 70% of IT graduates in this country end up as glorified receptionists on corporate helpdesks. A total waste of their talent and hard work in college.

You're young enough to make a change now without anyone batting an eyelid, but you'll really have to nail down where you want to go.

Have you any specific ideas on what you really want to do?
