    Hi,

Im leaving for Thailand on Monday and I was down at my local bank and they did not have any Thai money in stock and I will be gone before they can get any in. The woman in the bank told me that I would have no trouble gettin it in the airport. Is that true? im kinda freaking about this and I dont have a credit card!! Also when I arrive in Thailand will I be able to use my ATM, I was able to use it when I was travelling in Europe. Will I be able to use it in Thailand? Also woul dit be a good idea to bring travellers cheques?

    Any help would be great.
    Alan

    Hi

I have been in Thailand a good few times now and have always used my ATM card. You should have no problems picking up some cash in Dublin Airport or in Bangkok Airport

Hi all, sorry for gate crashing this thread. I am heading to thailand in a few weeks, i was just going to wait and get my money out of ATM's when i get there, but was just wondering if i will be able to use my atm card. It is an AIB card, with the PLUS sign on the back, will this work over there... the other option would be transferring my money to my boyfriends bank card as his has the CIRRUS sign on his, and we have heard that this can definitely be used there... Any ideas on what i should do??????????? thanks :)

You can order Thai Bhats (the official currency) from any Bank but you must give them some notice normally a couple of days is okay for them to get the currency from HQ.
At worst bring some US dollars which you can change over there no problems.
However DO NOT bring Sterling or Euros.

Do not bring $100 bills. Many places won't accept them. (Banks here will try to get rid of them but just say NO).

It should be fine. Just look for an ATM with a PLUS or VISA logo on it.
