If this was true and the EL was on the way up wouldnt they provide the player to get the Boys in Green back up?

Well did you read the title, it refers to the Boys in Green(which I guess is a ref to the Irish footie team. The article is about how good the EL is coming, my point is if it s getting so good why arnt more player in the Irish squad

The title was about the Irish clubs rising up the UEFA Coefficients whilst the national team are slipping down the rankings.

Regardless of what you say or how much it might hurt you, the EL is actually on the way up.

This season we are currently in 17th, but will obviously slip a bit as we've nobody left in Europe:

If we can keep up the past few years performances we'll certainly rise another few places and Europe will start to become a little easier for Irish clubs (seeding in CL and UEFA Cup draws etc...)

The league is moving up the rankings in Europe. The next 2 seasons, barring disasterous European form, will see an even sharper rise up the table - due to the way the coefficients of Ireland, and those around us, are perched. It is already looking like Irish clubs will be seeded in all European competitions next year, and in 3 years or so we will most likely see (assuming the last few years development continue) Irish clubs entering as seeds in the second stages, i.e: like whichever of the Scottish Old Firm doesn't win the league.

If the management team of the Irish team choose to overlook that, then its their loss. Personally, I can think of several players who could step up and do a fantastic ob - however the time for this is initially in friendlies, no point drafting in 'untested' players (from English clubs, either) for competitive games.

Also, it was said that the Boys in Green have been slipping down the rankings, while Irish clubs (and league) are moving up the rankings. Nowhere did it say that they were at the same level yet, or that the league clubs were better. It was merely pointing out that one is going up, while the other is going down.

Whatever will the bandwagon jumpers do next, eh? :D

World Class manager with international and professional experience picks the Ireland team atm it has scots and englishmen in it, atm 4 EL clubs on the up in europe maybe you have a point tho that EL players should be in the Ireland team and it may make them better, i disagree tho but each to their own.
