Church media packages

I am wondering if any of the Christians out there are aware of what software packages their congregations use for displaying media during the service- whether that is praise lyrics, bible readings, liturgical content or film clips.

Is everyone a Powerpoint user or can some people suggest a more refined package?

AFAIK our church uses Powerpoint as the background for all presentations.

Song lyrics, new items pre and post service as well as scripture used during the sermon.

The backgrounds vary from motion backgrounds of waves crashing, streams flowing etc. (have yet to see soccer highlights as a background. wouldn't that be something?)

I handle all the graphics here in the Bank. Macintosh, Windows or Unix. We have found the best way to present is to first create your presentation then save it as a PDF file. When you open the PDF selct view as slideshow from the menu bar. The reason we use PDF is that the images retain their color and position and display more clearly. If you are going to combine video or audio set it up in powerpoint then under the file menue select make movie.

Under the save as menue you could also select:
    save as Powerpoint Package
    save as Powerpoint show

If you have access to a macintosh you can use
    Keynote
    Pages
    Preview

    Hope this helps.

I spoke to a worship pastor today who had some suggestions from his research. There are quite a few programs available but these are the few he mentioned. He had used Songshowplus for a while and liked it. He switched to a Mac-based program because the interface was more intuitive, and because the person operating the program during a worship service can still take part without being too caught up in technical tasks. It also has a good interface with video.

    PC-based:
    Songshowplus
    Mediashout
    Easyworship

    Mac-based:
    ProPresenter

These all have good points. Hope this will help!
