I want to start driving into the city center twice a week to use the gym as I hate having to sit with the great unwashed on the 19A bus :D

Has anyone used the car park in Temple Bar ? Is it bike friendly ? or are there any other good options for parking around that area ?

Never used the carpark there, i usually just park on a quiet footpath. There's one behind the central bank i usually use, always see a couple of bikes parked there too. Obviously not as secure as a proper carpark though

There's a car park in Jervis Street that's biker friendly. Not the official one in Jervis St. Shopping Centre, but the one just facing it. They even have a specific area for bikes.
