I bought 2 Sony mobile phones (one for me and a mate) last Thursday week (11 days ago). I whould mention here that shipping cost nearly £30 sterling for Royalmail, registered and insured postage. I got an automated email saying your item will be shipped within 24 hours, terms and conditions ect ect. The email also said you will receive another email once item is shipped.

I email him 4 times last week asking was the item shipped, please provide a tracking number. The guy finally responded with another email (automated) saying item was shipped and tracking number was supplied. Turns out he only shipped yesterday 10 days later!!!!

Now the guy has charged me an arm and a leg for postage and then doesn't post for 10 days. No apology, nothing.

Before purchasing I checked the guys feedback and he had a rating of 98.6% with nearly 30,000 feedbacks. Of that he has 354 negatives in the past year (didn't look this far into his feedback before buying) so I don't think me giving him negative feedback will bother him (and from what I've seen he tends to give a neg straight back and I have good feedback that I don't want to loose).

What would you do? Nothing? Demand part postage back? Give him a negative feedback?

Ebay seems to be hosting more and more of these piss artists.

I'd wait to see if the phones arrive first, Dave.

Looks like if you give him negative feedback, he'll give it back to you. I'd be inclined not to give him any feedback at all.

It's so frustrating though. He charges an arm and a leg for postage (ok I knew postage costs before I bought) and then takes over a week to post. I suppose if I give him a neg I'll be cutting off my nose to spite my face.

Give him barbed positive feedback, something like:

"Very slow delivery, but no problem otherwise!"

I often had to give people barbed positive feedback as TmB suggested, much as I didn't want to, some items were delivered in very poor time. I would suggest you give it a bit more time. Hope you get it sorted out.

Maybe go with a neutral feedback? Dunno if that would have any merits.

This is what bugs me. If the buyer pays for the item quickly, then they should be given positive feedback soon after by the seller. The seller shouldn't wait until AFTER they have received feedback from the buyer.

Feedback extortion is all it is akin to blackmail.

One of the reasons I use eBay less and less. It's full of con artists, rip off merchants and dodgy gear.
