Does anybody know if this Tv is any good.

Salesguy said, Hisense have rebranded to BlueSky, and thats the particular model we'll be getting

Any info would be appreciated as we have just put down a €100 deposit and could pull out if Tv is no good

I bought one of these in airside on Saturday, and we're thrilled with it, picture quality is better than I thought it would be, good price too.:D

    nICE ONE

is there anything unusual about it?

i presume there is an analogue tuner. did it take long to tune in?

Just curious, is it HD ready?

Nothing unusual about it, i have sky+, so I haven't tried to tune it in, but there is a socket for a tv ariel, its not high def, they had a notice beside it to say its not, but that didn't bother me, as I'm not looking to get a sky hd box for a while, and I reckoned that if I got a couple of years out of it, by that time the HD ready tvs will cost a lot less and the sky hd boxes might be a bit more reasonable also.

I'd be very wary about spending a grand on some rebranded piece of crap - besides LCD's have much better picture quality especially when it comes to dark colours - I bought mine there a Philips 37" LCD for 1400 found them good but they were a bit pushy when it came to cables and stuff tried to flog the really expensive ones.
They only advertise this stuff to get people in the door and upsell - I was in the business for a couple of years believe me - stick with a well known brand.

You have it the wrong way aroundm plasma have better black levels and colour production, although theres not much between them now.

If I have it correct, Hisense are the importer, not the manufacturer.

And I'm reading the thread right now! 3 years on! The thing is my mum bought a Hisense 22" LCD TV in Harvey Normans yesterday for the guts of €350. I reckon its a rip off. Anyone have a Hisense TV for more than a year? Are they any good?

    Hi $tormer

I bought a 37" Hisense HD Ready from Harvey Norman nearly 3 years ago. I thought the picture quality was really good but had a few gripes with the TV - no HDMI socket (DVI only), poor manual, horrible remote and teletext stopped working after a few weeks. Worst of all though, it gave a loud bang last week and now the picture's gone.
