Nintendo DS Online Gaming?

    Hey,

    I am getting my DS this week and was just wondering can i play people online if i have broadband and am from monaghan...If so how do i set it up and can i use that new operah browser thing thats out next week...How do i set up the
    online gaming on my DS.

    EDIT: We have a Wireless G and B network

    You have to use WEP encryption.

    Your router is the most important thing, some don't work (Linksys are probably the best). You can check this out on nintendowificonnection.com or something similar (google is your friend).

    Opera browser is an additional accessory which will allow you to browse the web. It costs extra because it wasn't developed by Nintendo and because it comes with additional website so it can hold a web page without crashing. Another reason might be to keep the initial cost of the DS down as low as possible.

    If you have enabled it to run homebrew, there are also some MSN instant messangers available.

    Otherwise you can play online with it assuming you manage to connect with it.

    Fine if you don't want pedophiles using your Internet connection to look up child porn, you need to use WEP to dissuade them if you also wish to use your DS online.

    WPA doesn't work and WEP is crackable but not by average Joe.

    I just use a MAC address access list on the basis that I believe the average pedo will also not be able snoop/fake MAC addresses.
