I'm going there for a couple of weeks at the end of the month for training, so should be there for the first weekend of November.
Any suggestions for nightlife/pretty much anything interesting to do at the weekend?

Drinking lots of german beer on draught is already on the agenda btw :p

There's a huge indoor skiing/snow boarding complex in Neuss - great for a night out with mates.

For "liquid" nightlife get a train or tram into Düsseldorf & head for the Altstadt (Old Town). It has 260 bars & restaurants packed into 1km sq. It is everything that Temple Bar wants to be, but sadly isn't.

For food I'd strongly recommend Schweine Janes on Bolkerstrasse (right in the middle of the Altstadt). They specialise in schweinehaxes (pork knuckles) & are absolutely marvellous.

I'm not normally one to go to Irish bars when overseas, but MacLaughlins on Kurzestrasse (2 mins walk from Schweine Janes) is like a home away from home. None of this themed Irish bar crap.

For more upperclass grub there's the revolving restaurant at the top of the Rhineturm (the large tower on the banks of the Rhine overlooking Neuss).

If you want more info let me know.

Excellent, that should be more than enough to keep me going:)
A visit to Aldstadt is definitely in order!
