My mother recently got a new car, and she and my father gave me her old car , a 94 corsa.

I'm about to get insured and start driving it with my own insurance policy , but i was wondering should the name on the tax book have to be changed to mine

Perhaps a very stupid qeustion , but i just wondered .

    Thanks ,
    John

    Ownership details should be changed.

Some insurance companies will only insure you on your own policy if you are the registered owner of the car in question. They usually ask you this question when quoting you a price.
