Anyone else stoked for this? Great cast (Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards) and Fincher behind the helm, how could you not be?
Based on the Robert Graysmith books about the real life notorious Zodiac, a serial killer who terrorized San Francisco with a string of seemingly random murders during the 1960s and 1970s.

Being a huge Fincher fan.. it's been too long since the man did anything.

Apparently, we'll see a trailer in the coming week.

Count me in as excited as frak. Huge Fincher fan, ever since I was mesmerized by "Se7en" (my first 18s movie in the cinema! aww...). Whilst I wasn't that impressed with "Panic Room" I know it wasn't really what he wanted to do so I've high hopes for this. Can't wait!

Theres a film out to rent at the moment called The Zodiac I think its based on the same thing , Robin "Prison Break " Tunney is in it

Yep.. spotted that 'The Zodiac' film in Xtra-Vision alright.

Also got Justin "Grey's Anatomy" Chambers (Alex Karev) and William "Lost" Mapother (Ethan Rom).... heh, putting TV shows in the middle of people's names is fun! :D

Looks like a pile of pish though.. something about the cover reminds anyone else of the creeper from 'Jeepers Creepers'? Might be the way the eye blends into the scaly background.. looks like the Creeper's head.

Anyways... rumours still circulating about October 6th for the trailer - may air before Scorses's "The Departed".

    That's true, but what's your point? He's a director, not a writer.
anyone can shoot something and make it look moody
Well, he's not a cinematographer either actually.. but I still don't know what you're basing that comment on. Fight Club in particular was considered an unfilmable book at one stage. I think he did a damn good job of it myself.

The Game was great too.. people seem to forget about that one.

Also recently saw the extended cut of Alien3 and thought that was very good.

my point is that im not looking forward to it ..and i explained why im not .. is that ok ? all his films look the same .fight club wasent unfilimable because there was no camera that could handle its coolness it was unfilmable cus they couldnt put a structure on it , so who ever the screenwriter was did a great job and i look forward to his next film (jim Uhls). but fincher doesent impress me the way other directors that i like do . that is my point .

P.S the Game was tripe .your opinion no longer counts imo .:D

You said that [everyone says] Seven is great, but basically it doesn't count because he didn't write it. A highly flawed argument right there.

And that 'anyone' can shoot something and make it look moody, which is just a stupid comment to make.

Fair enough you aren't looking forward to it and don't like Fincher as a director.. but put a little thought into your arguments next time.

Better shot of the Zodiac poster... coooooooool!

RAIN, Fincher is one of the most unique film-makers out there in terms of the mood he sets in his films (whether it's the dark edge of 'Seven' or the humourous mood to harrowing scenes in 'Fight Club'), the camera work he uses (in particular - the camera work in 'Panic Room', despite being his least renowned film, i like the long panning he uses across the kitchen through furniture).

You're entitled to your own opinion.. but i agree with Goodshape, best make your argument more convincing next time, as opposed to just shi*ting on a talented man just for the sake of it.

dont know if ye got this - http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30367

You'd think they would have from the director of FIGHT CLUB on it as opposed to Panic Room....

Thanks for the advice but il put as much thought into my ''argument '' as i like .

when i said he didn't write the thing ( seven ) I was referring to the fact that lots of people like seven cus the story/twist is great not the fact that it was well directed . im just saying just cus you can pick a good script doesn't make you a great director .imo id put fincher just above rathner in my list of directors im not mad on .
Did anyone see flight plan ? i don't know who directed that but while watching it all I could think of was this looks like a fincher film so now every moody boring movie I see reminds me of fincher .
I do agree alien 3 gets a lot of slack for no reason ! I liked it .
Panic room ?I didn't like it and no matter how many cgi helped camera tricks he put in it i wouldn't of liked it .
I have a feeling that because my user id doesn't have 4 stars beside it im not going to win this ''argument '' iv been accused of starting ?
    but I don't care .

I still think he's average fight club or no fight club .

Nope, it's got nothing to do with that :)

Putting a little thought and effort into your posts is the thing most likely to earn you respect around here. Most people have gotten over star-count envy some time ago.

And yea, any argument over personal tastes is a silly argument.. but if we were down the pub I think I'd be in full rant mode at this stage :D

I mean, RATNER and FINCHER, you must be joking :p
