What websites do you surf on your phone?

Have just bought a Nokia N61 - am on 02 so they're charging me 1c/kb. . I'm new to using the phone for the internet (mostly whilst I'm on the move) what websites to you use ?

As I'm new to this sort of stuff, it seems like some sites (with more graphics) use more kb (so cost more) to use. .

any tips from experienced users out there?

mobile.yahoo.com for email
wap.tcm.ie for news
www.bbc.co.uk/news also for news.

There are pda versions of the above which may work with your phone but will have more graphics & therefore cost more to download. The pda version of tcm (breakingnews.ie) is subscription only, but there is a text-only version at http://www.breakingnews.ie/text/small/ which is good.

That's about it.

Don't have a phone like that but I imagine there's an option in WEB SETTINGS not to download images while browsing.

download opera mini java app (go to mini.opera.com on your phones browser),it compresses normal web pages to fit the phone and use minimal data,i use it all the time..best thing ever!

try http://www.skweezer.net to compress data server side before it reaches your phone. Good portal.
http://pdaportal.com/ has loads of sites.
rte.ie/pda is good also

use the rss reader of the E61 (I'm presuming you mean E61 not N61) to get latest feeds.

en.wapedia.org is a nice mobile version of Wikipedia...
IMDB has a mobile version which is good too.. google it..
or use google.com/pda for a smaller googler

@quintron: an alternative to www.skweezer.net is www.mobileleap.com for reformatting webpages and reducing data costs.

personally, i find mobileleap nicer to use than skweezer and it's better than skweezer for logging into sites e.g to www.boards.ie.

I like Gmail so I use http://gmobile.sayni.net/xhtml to access it. Works on my Nokia 6230i and many other models. This much better than Google's own Mobile Gmail.
