when you buy a sim in o2 stores, they ask for your name and address which they put into the database.. what about Meteor Stores, The Carphone Warehouse, Xtra-vision, 3G? I want to buy a meteor sim without them putting my details in the computer. Where will they not ask?

You could get a pre pay sim from any of the 3 operators & not have to give your details.

Most operators offer free credit for those who do register but there is nothing to say that you can not stay anon!

Give em a false name and address.

Did you tell them that you would prefer not to?

Seller: Can I get your name and address?

You: No. I do not wish to provide that info.

Seller: Fine. Here's you sim card.

That's pretty much the conversation you would have in a nutshell.

The simplest thing to do is to give a fake name.
Half the time they never ask anyway. The system in some shops is set up to not be able to sell the thing without a name and address. Often the sales people just put in a fake name themselves as it's quicker.
