The Upgrades are a well-oiled ska-punk-machine."The depth of their commitment to the genre is very evident and altho they have firmly established themselves as a ska band at heart their music clearly points to a targetted audience more in touch with mainstream commercial music than just a niche market of ska enthusiasts. The Upgrades have successfully fused modern day influences with reggae rhythm and punchy beats. The hints of modern pop punk and vocals reminiscient of many "anthem-esque" type rock songs with traditionally catchy chorus's will stir up even the most stoic listener!"*

The band have covered a lot of tracks on the scene in the two years they’ve been together and are no stranger to playing gigs with bands and audiences of an entirely diffrent genre. Regularly sharing the stage with Emo bands, Punk bands, Rock and Roll, Indie and even Metal bands.
Most recently they supported american rock/reggae band State Radio, and other high profile gigs such as supporting ska legend Neville Staple (ex-The Specials), They are also just after returing from playing the Staatsforsten Open Air Festival in Germany and the Cula Outdoor Music Festival in Wexford.

In the past they have played to over 600 skankin’ kids at a packed out all ages event as part of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival. Last summer they toured the North and South of Ireland earning hundreds of fans as well as selling many t-shirts and demo cd’s.
More recently they played support to Canadian reggae superstars Bedouin Sound Clash as well as ska legends The Beat and Mark Foggo’s Skasters and also numerous support slots with acts from the UK such as Pendleton, The Upstarts and Robolint.

Along with this The Upgrades are presently working hard towards recording an official full length cd with the aim to release it sometime in the new year.
