Just a small one; what measurement method does apple use for it's screen size, is it from side to side, or diagonally from one corner to another (as most places tend to do nowadays)?
Just want to get an idea so I can see what size each machine would be (without having to go an see one!)

The standard for screen sizes is diagonally. Guess Apple do the same. Check out a pic of an iMac to give you an idea of the extra space outside of the screen.
