I'm looking to book four or five days in Disneyland Paris next summer. Can anyone tell me which is the best way to do this (book flights seperately and organise my own transfers or use a package deal) and what is the best sites to use.

You can get some good deals via official agents, but you can do quite well booking directly with the airlines and hotels too.

Abbey Travel are official agents in Ireland: http://www.abbeytravel.ie/disney.php

I won't insult your intelligence by posting the airlines for you!

I went recently with the European Paintball Championships (held at Disney resort) and we ended up booking directly with the hotel and got a very very good deal. Get the flight booked with one of the cheap airlines and it wont cost too much there either.

You can prebook a bus ticket that goes from Charles De Gaule airport directly but just be careful with times as you can end up having to wait. You can buy the bus ticket on the bus if you dont get it beforehand.

We got fed up waiting for the bus and got a minibus (they are always loitering around the airport touting for business) which in the end cost us a few quid cheaper and it emant we went straight to the hotel without the fuss or hassle of hotel drops etc.

Its luck of the draw really

Just back from Disneyland Paris myself. I booked the flights and hotel seperately so I ended up paying around 300 euro for 4 nights, which wasn't bad at all.

I booked with Aer Lingus and flew from Cork direct into Charles De Gaulles airport, you can book with Ryanair and fly into Beauvais which involves a bit of hassle really when you have kids to cart around. If you fly into CDG there are official Disney buses that take you directly to their hotels and cost €13 for a child one way and €16 for an adult. There are loads of taxis around that will match that or cheaper and get you there in half the time, just agree the price before you leave the airport.

If you plan to stay in one of the disney hotels it might be worth paying the extra for the likes of the New York Hotel, or Newport Bay you might get a good deal booking directly with the Disney website now seeing as it is so far in advance. Other sites do cover them too though like hotelclub.com.

Beware that it is extremely expensive over there and there is pretty much only junk food to eat unless you go to Val d'Europe one train stop down from Disney (huge shopping centre there). It only takes a few minutes and there is a big Seaworld thing there too.

I found the place very reasonable, €49 in, and every ride was free. The merchandise was not half as extortionate as I thought too, a tenner for silk Mickey ties, thirty odd for fleece hoodies too I think. Sweet place.

i went to disney last year and found it worked out better when i organised everything myself.
there is a special metro line (i think its pink) that brings you straight from paris to disney and its about 20mins.cheap too as a metro carnet of 12 tickets costs €10 or less.

I've been twice in the last 10 months, (I got an annual pass for the parks on my first visit). I booked everything separately and it worked out a lot cheaper.

Sign up for the Aer Lingus enewsletter and it sends you notice when they have a seat sale. We went in May this year and the flights for 4 of us with them was just under €250.

We stayed in the Disneyland Holiday Inn and got the rooms at €90 - €95 per room per night including breakfast. Lots of people would help themselves to rolls from the buffet breakfast and have them for their lunch. There's a free shuttle bus from the parks to the hotel and it takes less than 10 mins.
