Hey all, i have a wee bit of a problem here and was hoping you can help. Well basically i splashed out on a brand new monitor to play the 360 on, and my god its sweet. the difference between this and a sdtv is almost unreal. Looks pretty, dont ya think?

So its all looking good, but this is where my problem arises. I cant hear ****.
And its all down to this little fella. Or should that be, big fella

You can see the problem here, along with my sexy milk white hand, basically, there is just no physical way i can plug it into the speaker input on the back of my monitor without chopping out a chunk of plastic from it! even the vga input only barely fits into it! I cant believe its so badly designed.
Still, i dont want to return the monitor as it looks absolutely fookin beautiful, so my question to you is this: what can i do? Is there a speaker set i can buy and plug it into instead of using the monitor speakers? maybe even an adapter of some sort that i can plug it into my monitor without having to try and force it in violently? Anything?! HELP!
    Thanks

man thats a shame as it's a nice looking monitor.

i had my 360 hooked up to my pc lcd monitor for the face to face event a few months ago and to get over the sound problem i bought a 3.5 mm coupler from maplins to plug my lcd's sound into one end and the 360's sound into the other [your pic 2 ] .

my monitor's vga cable [ that normally plugs into my pc's graphics card ] has the speaker sound attached to it , and i just pluged the 360 vga and the monitor vga together with the adaptor and then the sound by the 3.5 mm coupler i got in maplins for around 3 euro.

You should be able to find audio extension cables in the like of Dixons for some excessive price that will do the job. Or head down to Maplins and get a cheaper one or make your own.

This will do the trick!! My I suggest a 5.1 system to complement your monitor though?! you can pick up half decent ones for about 100 yoyos, and its alot nicer than stereo!

Logitech sell a basic 5.1 surround system for €84

Or you could just get a 2 speakers from €20 upwards, althoough surround sound really does immerse you more in the game, I'm running my 360 into a Sony Amp and onto 100W speakers plus an independant subwoofer, its great for most games, and being able to hear people behind you in multiplayer on xbox live is cool.

Also Call of Duty 2 is amazing when you feel every blast..

Of course ther eis also times when you do not want surround sound so you need a cable like this:

There are deffinitely speaker systems on Komplett.ie that have that little 3.5" input for sound. Or you could plug it into your sound card and hook regular speakers up to the pc. I was using a 700w 7.1 surround system with my 360 and hi-def tv and it was pretty special. Those speakers though would set you back about €400-€450 (Creative Gigaworks S750). There are plenty of options though for sound. Best to shop around

The 360 has full Dolby Digital surround sound so don't bother using the tiny speakers in your monitor. Go out and buy a decent surround sound amp and some decent speakers with a nice big sub woofer. Then you will really be blown away. I use the optical output into my Sony amp and it sounds amazing. If it's too late at night I use my Tritton AX 360 surround sound, (true 5.1) headphones. The sound is incredible. It's great when you can hear people sneaking up on you and from what direction. Or you could pop down to Peats and by the correct audio leads for your monitor

to be honest, where the xbox is located in the house isnt ideal for setting up surround sound, i share the room with my sis so when shes watchin tv i cant exactly be blastin games all over the place via surround sound. Ill probably just but some regular speakers, and if possible ones i can just hook some good headphones into when i need to
