K, im finally gettin a new PC

Ive had a 3Ghz Celeron PC with 256MB RAM, and a banjaxed motherbored the last year or so

Anyways, I use my comp like 6 hours a day, and mainly run MSN, Music, IExplorer and some other stuff at the same time. And i'd like t be bale t play games every now n again

    I dunno wether to get a 1.70Ghz Laptop with 512 ram, or a P4 Pc with 512/1GB

they'd both be around 700 euro

    Thanks

Is that a decent laptop for them kinds o tasks?

If that is all you are looking to do then a laptop will be grand, but best just get a stick of 1gb of RAM to be safe. Are you at college or something that you need the portability? Remember, games are another issue on laptops as the graphics cards aren't really upgradeable. Might be better going for a PC. What games do you play often?

If you are paying the same price for a laptop as a desktop with pretty much the same spec you are looking in the wrong places.

Unless you need a laptop go for a desktop.

wha u mean the same spec? the laptop is only 1.7Ghz, the dsktop wud be like 3Ghz

Eh, I dont really play a lot of games since my comp is fxcked, but id like the option of some simple ones like Hitman and Tomb Raider etc

Also, is this laptop worth 350 brand new???

OK , laptops in that price range are not going to be great at games but will do for everything else you have listed.

Hitman will struggle on any laptop in that range , and struggle badly , Tomb raider should run but thats way older than hitman , unless you are talking about the latest version , Angel of darkness , that will definitely struggle .

That laptop you have there for 350 is a good deal , but wont do games , it will manage everything else pretty much OK though .

Any decent gaming laptop will come with some kind of ATI mobility video card or a Geforce go video card , the integrated ones are rubbish at games , and laptops cannot be upgraded in the graphics department.

So unfortunately , as far as I know anyway , a semi decent gaming laptop wont be had for 700 euro.

Where did you find that laptop for 350? I'm looking for a laptop just like that for basic tasks and the cheapest I could find was 450.
