Free versions of Winzip

Are there any old versions of winzip that do the basic job and are available without the 45 day evaluation? I thought Winzip made older versions available for free but Im not 100% sure.

I don't think so but you could try Zip Central or 7 Zip as an alternative.

7-zip is free, i think it can open zip files

Yeah, it supports standard Zip files amongst many others. It's good for the price!
