    Howdy!

I have some arcade cabs that I will probably be selling, just posting a heads up here to see if there is any interest.

They have been in dry storage for about the last few years, and my wife has finally won the battle and persuaded me to sell some of them.

So, if anyone is interested, post on here and I'll answer any questions. The cabs are based in North Dublin, and Lisburn in the North.

    Asteroids
    Gauntlet
    Chase HQ
    Paperboy#1
    Paperboy#2
and I think 3 or 4 jamma cabs in various setups.

    Cheers, Des.

I'm interested in a few of those, but ill need pics (the more the better :)) and some prices too. Get some details on the Jamma cabs too, like what games are currently in them, would you sell the jamma PCB's seperate, and are any setup for neo-geo mvs etc...
    Post here, or PM me.
    Thanks.

As a long time collector of arcade games/boards etc. I just wanna let you guys know that Des is perhaps the biggest collector in the country with some total classics in his collection. I've known Des for perhaps 5 years and he's a star bloke.

If any of you guys are thinking of buying his stuff - buy in total confidence.
Also, these babies are rare as hens teeth in most cases, so dont expect to get them for buttons.

If you guys are serious about getting a classic piece of gaming history, this is a real opportunity as I expect they will end up on eBay UK very soon and leave the country for good. :-(

    Just my 2c worth.

    Thanks
    Aidan. aka Defenderdude

I have just come across a few boxes of control panels.

I will be sticking them on Ebay UK, but just in case anyone local needs them to restore a machine I will list them here.

Only ask if you actually need one of them!

    Tron x 2
Centipede x 3 (1 of them has a Willis overlay)
    Frenzy x 1

    Cheers, Des.

Which cabinets are stored in North Dublin?

Atari Gauntlet and Paperbpy originals, very nice!! I am interested in buying another JAMMA cab, but it must be a six button machine. What cabs do you have up North? I'm only 35 mins away from you here in Dungannon. If i had more space i'd definitely buy that Gauntlet off you, surely there can't be many working ones left in Ireland? :(

Also, would any of you know where I could source a 19" Wells Gardner monitor? Please? Please?
It's for an full-size Sega OutRun upright. Thanks.

Oh by the way, I too was once the proud owner of a Chase HQ cabinet. Such a great game. Brilliant machine to have around the house with friends and late night drinking involved. :D
Sadly, I had to let go of it to make way for other machines..

Hey monkeyfudge, I see you're into your Transformers. I was a Transformers nut back in the 80's. I had every single issue of the Transformers comic up to around issue 130, then my dad chucked 'em all out and set fire to them..:(

I still have all the original toys, most of the boxes and most of the original release videos though..

Do you have any cocktail cabs ??

Just found this forum by this thread so my knowledge of pretty much everything retro is very limited. I'm curious though, how much would someone expect to pay for a SF2 machine? I'd love to get one. Doesn't have to be original.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,196 ✭✭✭deadl0ck

    Few hundred.
You could also buy an old arcade cabinet and convert it to run MAME (are you familiar with MAME?) - see Build your own arcade controls website.

I've played some emus yea. Would it just be a case of putting a pc inside an old cabinet and buying some pc compatible controllers?

I'm based in Leixlip myself deadl0ck, you aren't by any chance selling a sf2 machine are you? ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,196 ✭✭✭deadl0ck

    I'm afraid not :D

I actually converted an old NeoGeo caband use a SlikStik as the controller. It runs MAME - it's the only way to go !!

No problem DesG. There seems to be a lot of interest in these cabs so by all means post links to adverts.ie
