I am looking into getting my laptop insured. I have seen that on laptopsdirect.ie you can get dedicated laptop insurance at a very acceptable price

    http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/Acer_3_Year_CompuCover_up_to_750_INS-ACER1/version-1.asp

The only problem is that this insurance package is only available to UK resisdents. Is there any equivelant packages available in Ireland and if so where??
Id be interested to see the ammount people paid for their insurance, the package details and who you purchased it from.
Iv looked into getting it covered on the house insurance but since im mostly away from home (college in Dublin) I dont think I would meet the criteria.

Are you sure?? Id have my laptop out of the house at least 70% of the time. It can still be covered on home insurance?
Would there be alot of hastle trying to get a valid claim in if you get your laptop stollen 50 miles down the road from your house??

your cover will have to have unspecified cover and it usually covers items upto a cetain value outside of the house.
I know my cover from 123.com, has accidental damage incase i drop it, and 2000€ worth of unspecified cover, which is for outside of the house. so if i losse it of it's robbed when i'm out of the house it is covered.
