Hi all. I was wondering if I can expect any problems if I install a retail version of win Xp pro on a dell laptop. I assume I will get the drivers for the wireless lan and other stuff on the net. Im not sure if it will accept the new version as the laptop has a Dell Ome version preinstalled.

Shouldn't cause any problems. I assume you are formatting and then doing the reinstall?

yes, I think the xp disk should format the drive, will that do it?

It will indeed. Make sure to take backups of your data first if necessary.

Also putting your service tag on the support section of the Dell website should bring you to a list of downloads/drivers for your specific machine.
