Well i have to see i was really looking forward to the return of smallville and they are usually excellent season openers.

But that was the most dissappointing opening ever.

The only enjyable moment for me was to see
Lana in so much pain when she gets that spike through here hand.

also now that he has defeated Zod whats the point of him going up against others from the phantom zone

Most of this post contains spoilers so beware I did block 2 of them though :D

Wasn't a great season opener but was a decent episode.

Bout time there showing Jor-El as a good guy.

I assume by having lois have a 'near death experience' they give her a new look on life so she starts to study journalism now.

Phantom zone was cool, alot of people thought it was cheap by having a desert but the camera effect they used made it much more alien.
Was a little pissed at him killing zod (although in smallville no one is ever fully dead :) )
but i did like the homage to superman 2.

Looking foward to next weeks episode
    Super Breath
    :D

Not a bad episode. But 5 seasons of building up to the invasion of Zod, and
Clarke defeating him in one episode is kinda anti-climatic. But it's the only way to wrap it up in a nice tidy package (nothing major has really changed - Lana lost consciousness just as Clarke arrived). And now they've a series to fill with a few escaped super convicts... I'm expecting filler eps galore
    .

Lana's pretty face is all she's got going for her. Like Washout, I get some sadistic enjoyment out of watching her suffer - she's just annoying now.

    Allison Mack is fierce hot.

I really liked the way Zod came to a stop when flying over to Clark in the field - much better effects than what was in Superman Returns (but I guess Superman Returns was looking to be consistant with the first two movies).
Zod's a phantom so he can't be dead - just trapped in the amulet Clark used to remove him from Lex.

    It look's like
4 phantoms were released from the Phantom Zone
, will be interesting to see what comes of them.

We've also got the Green Arrow and a Justice League episode to look forward to this year...

It wasn't too bad,but I think the show hasn't been great overall in a long while.

    Still though,
the phantom zone was done well I thought and the phantoms themselves looked cool, should be interesting now that there are some on earth.

Also great to see lana get kicked around the place and stabbed etc. Kill her off already. Of course again she was knocked out when it all happened. Every character on that show needs to get a head CT scan because the amount of times they have been hit on the head is amazing! :p

How often has Lex had his Study room trashed in season openers/finales - he must be getting sick of redecorating.

    Decent episode.

And now another 20 painfully bad filler episodes to look forward to before the enivatably epic season finale :)

Very true, well you might have the odd one here and there that will be good, but for me,thats what the show has been like since season 3.

Not a very good episode to be honest.
There was enough material there to at least get 3 episodes out of the Zod/Brainiac/Jor El/Lionel Luther/Phantom Zone threads but instead they ridiculously wrapped things up in 33 minutes of episode 1.
Still though this show is far better than most of the garbage on tv.

If I had a Euro for every time Lex gets amnesia at the end of an episode....

They should have left the S scar on his hand, though....

I thought it was left there, then I watched it a second time

It would have been cool, especially as it would be a constant reminder of his enemy (superman ;) ) (in the future of course)

Biggest problem with smallville (besides the mushy 'i love you' 'i dont love you lana' stuff) is it's filler episodes. Really you can watch the premiere and finale and not have missed much.

Although this season they have the
justice league (kinda) which should be cool, DC comics characters are usually high rated eps, they must think having 4 in one episode with quadruple their ratings :D

8 episodes in and season 6 is shockingly bad .
Its degenerated into pure garbage the last few weeks, the episodes were like they were written by a 5 year old.
Very sad the direction this show has taken ,rehashing luvvie duvvie tripe, freak of the week stuff and Chloe the super sleuth .
They need to get rid those 3 plotlines and concentrate on some proper storylines.

TBH the show has always been the same.

    1. Person gets touched by green rock.
    2. Person gets super powers.
2.a throw in some Dawsons Creek scripts.
    3. Clark stops them.

Only difference with season 6 is that it is a different thing rather then green rocks.
