Was on to Fuji Ire today about camera repair just a button broken off and they are looking for 165 to handle it and they will give me a 12 month warnty. That price stands no matter had trivial the problem , this is such a rip off. Had anyone a similar experience.

So what is a fair price for professional repair work these days?

Was the camera within its inital warranty? Did the button break off because of you dropping the camera, or did it just pop off spontaneously?

The price quoted for parts and handling seems about right, even if its high - companies do make money from after-sales support.

My problem is that this set price is excessive, this price stands regardless of the problem, i think half that would be a bit fairer and i add a bit fairer. 80 notes is till a bit much. By the way the button broke off, it is the main button and cant find it. Just to top the day off i spilt tea on laptop and it hasnt come back to life. What a week, this is from someone who is a nut with my equipment and the care of it.

i work in a shop and 90% of camera repairs are over €120,your paying for someones time to do the work more than anything, plus the hassle of keeping old spare parts for literally dozens of models,
most companies just rip the innards out of your camera and replace the entire circuit,it's way less hassle

You are also getting another 12 months warranty on your camera which is worth it also (unless its on the fixed part only)
